The American Universities Pathway Program (AUPP) brings together:
  • Online credit courses from selected US colleges and universities,
  • Onsite trained and certified Mentors for each student,
  • One-on-one tutoring,
  • Local learning community
  • Career interest assessments
  • Advising, counseling and application assistance to choice of destination universities throughout the US.

AUPP is for students just starting their higher education studies who want to take their first year of US credit courses close to home for a much lower cost than going directly to the US.
AUPP also is for adult students who want to undertake their first year of Masters study close to home. For those who can’t leave their jobs, these students can take their entire Masters degree program online through AUPP and earn exactly the same degree as any student who goes to the US campus.

Richard W. Ferrin, Ph.D., President & CEO

Richard is the Founder of World Education Group and has more than 35 years of higher education leadership that began with work in program research and development at The College Board. It continued with two academic vice presidencies and three presidencies, the most recent being at Salem International University, which ranked #3 in the US in the percentage of international students in its student body. In addition, Dr. Ferrin has conducted numerous consultancies, one of which was from 2005-2012 when as a consultant he served as President of Penn Foster College, an international distance learning institution with more than 25,000 students.

Dr. Ferrin has served on higher education advisory boards in Singapore and South Korea, as an honorary professor at universities in South Korea and Japan, and as a board member for numerous community and educational organizations in the United States. He earned his Ph.D. in educational administration and organizational behavior at Stanford University.

Victoria Kaloust, Senior Enrollment Advisor

Victoria Kaloust joined WEgroup in 2011 as a Senior Enrollment Advisor. Her international background has been pivital to the success of students who wish to study at universities in the US. She was was born in Lebanon from a Greek / Armenian father and a Lebanese mother has lived in many countries around the world Lebanon, Kuwait, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Canada and finally the USA.

MS. Kaloust graduated with a BA in International Business Degree from University of Amman-Jordan and is tri-lingual (read, write and speak) in English, Arabic and French. She works with International students from all countries and enjoys helping students find the right path in education, achieve their goals and succeed in life.

Vanessa Rice, Operations Manager & Assistant to the President

As Operations Manager & Assistant to the President, Vanessa helps international students navigate the admission process to successfully gain acceptance to one of our close to 50 partner American Universities. She joined WEgroup in January 2014. In addition to enrollment, Vanessa is the Assistant to the President and wears many hats, helping to keep our operation running smoothly.

Prior to WEgroup, Vanessa ran and taught an afterschool enrichment program, teaching technology and robotics to children. She also was an Account Manager and Branch Rental Manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Vanessa earned her BS in Criminal Justice from Pace University. Her tech-savvy spirit and positive attitude are tremendous assets to WEgroup.

Douglas Palmer, JD Director of Business Development

Since joining World Education Group in October as our new Director of Business Development, Douglas has been pivotal in bringing AUPP to market. His work is focused on acquiring new AUPP business partners throughout the world, as well as developing sales and marketing plans with ESL schools and universities to attract qualified students to the AUPP program and consequently to make these schools more profitable.

Douglas Palmer is a former attorney with over seven years experience in English language program development, ELS accreditation, and international recruiting.

Doug served as Commissioner on the Commission for English Language Program Accreditation (CEA), one of two accrediting bodies approved by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit adult ESL. During Doug’s tenure as a CEA Commissioner (2013-2015), the Commission reviewed and issued accreditation decisions for over 300 intensive English programs.

For seven years, Doug served as the Business Development Director of LCI Language Centers, which he helped to grow from an accredited intensive English program based in Denver, Colorado to a fully-accredited institution with five, individual CEA-accredited branches.

Before ESL, Doug practiced law as a securities attorney. He has his Bachelor’s degree from University of Arizona and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver.
